Zara City Bag.

So I may be a little late onto the bandwagon with reviewing this bag, but you all just have to realise it is a little difficult getting your hands on certain products when you live so far across the ocean. (Meaning the other side of the globe, where certain places do not even post here or unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount!)

I am sure many bloggers and vloggers own this very bag in the Northern Hemisphere, however I thought I would share my opinion with you.

The Zara City Bag did cost a hefty amount but it is definitely all worth it! It has to be my favourite bag in my collection as it so simple however it just sparkles sophistication. As I saw that so many people were buying this bag on blogs, I jumped online to try and find it, which was not easy as it was a total sell out! It was not an easy task, but luckily my grandparents picked it up for me from a local Zara store and sent it back with my dad when he was visiting last. I have had this bag for a little while now and it has kept its structure and the wear of the material is magical. No scratches, marks or scuffs! (That may be because I take of it like it would be a child!)

So what is all the hype about? Isn’t it just another bag? I am sure you are all thinking isn't it just a plain black straight-framed bag? Well it is but it brings so much more with it! The Zara City Bag is stylish and a practical handbag that allows you to carry around all of your essentials, with a little bit of extra space. If you are a sucker for pockets and extra space like me to organise all of your belongings, then there is plenty of special little places for all of most important possessions. There is a specific pouch for your laptop and IPad that is extra padded, with the addition of credit card sleeves and pockets. What I also love about this bag is the fact that there are two handles, which can be placed in the crook of your arm or a long strap. (If any bag has the addition of a long strap, I am sold straight away!) It is so versatile with how you can style it and where you can wear it to, without being to overdressed or business like!

I do believe that was a creation similar to this bag but smaller on the market not so long ago, but I have just been dreaming that one! Anyway, have a fantastic weekend and I will speak to you on Monday!

Monday Inspiration

I firstly want to apologise for not posting anything last week and I know that in one of my previous posts I said that I am going to try really hard to stay consistent with my posting and balance out my school work and my blog. But really we all know how busy it gets and the hours in the day zoom by in a flash and before we know it, it is bedtime and the whole process starts all over again.

So after my excuse, I hope to back blogging as it surely does feel like something is missing and have missed the times of sitting down and writing the posts for the week ahead! As I have started school (I am now in week 3!), the assignments and tasks have slowly been creeping up on me and on certain days I have really not felt with it all and in a very unproductive mood. This is terrible for such an early beginning, as I still have 8 months remaining, but I have decided that I need to really start balancing out my school work and blogging. As I am year 12 (the final year of schooling) one of the reasons for starting this blog was a way for me to escape and have a break to share with you my thoughts and ideas, when I am not indulging in a book for school, as we all need a little 'me time' where we can do something that we enjoy!

So as I have all of a sudden felt out of the swing of things and had a bit of a writers block, I browsed the internet for a little inspiration, which is where I found the image below. It caught my eye and so whenever I am not my usual self or need to balance out my work load, I need to read over these and get a spark of positive vibes back into me!

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and I will speak to you in my next post!

Keep Calm & Have a Cupcake: Mixed Berry & Lemon

So it has been a while since I have posted a cupcake recipe from my ‘Keep Calm and Have a Cupcake’ series! As it is so overdue, I thought a scrumptious lemon and mixed berry cupcake would do the trick. This would also be perfect for a Valentines Day treat to make with your friends or to just simply make and enjoy! This is personally one of my favourite treats, because it is light in flavour, but allows you to have the perfect burst of sugar!

I hope you all have a blast creating these sweet delights and if you decide to make them, make sure to send me a photo or link me to your blog as I love exploring other peoples blogs!

Mixed Berry and Lemon Cupcakes: (Adapted from Georgetown Cupcakes
For the cupcakes:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
8 Tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 ¾ cups caster sugar
2 large eggs
2 ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Seeds from 1 vanilla bean
1 ¼ cups whole milk
½ cup mixed berries
½ cup white chocolate
1 tablespoon lemon zest

1.      Preheat the oven to 180-degrees (350-farenhete). Line a standard cupcake ban with twelve paper baking cups or grease the pan with butter if not cups are used.
2.     Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and set aside.
3.     In the bowl of a stand mixer or in a bowl with a handheld mixer, cream together the butter and sugar for 3-5 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing slowly after each addition.
4.     Add the vanilla to the milk with the vanilla seeds in a large liquid measuring cup and mix together.
5.     Add one third of the dry ingredients followed by one third of the milk and mix thoroughly. Repeat. Stop to scrape down the bowl as needed. Add the last third of both ingredients and mix slowly until fully incorporated.
6.     Now stir in the white chocolate, lemon zest and berries, making sure to not over mix it otherwise the berry juice will run. (Unless you want a swirl affect then go ahead, but otherwise keep it to a minimum!)
7.     Scoop the batter into the cupcake pan using a standard ice-cream scoop until the cups are two-thirds full.
8.      Bake for 16-18 minutes, but check at 15 by inserting a skewer or toothpick and if it comes out clean they are fully cooked.
9.     Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

For the frosting:
500g Confectioners sugar
250g butter, at room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon of seeds from a vanilla pod
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon lemon zest
a few drops of pink food colouring (give or take depending on how bright or pale you would like your pink coloured!)

1.      In a separate bowl fully sift the icing sugar.
2.     Beat the butter until it is softened. Then gradually add the confectioners sugar until fully combined and smooth.
3.     Add the flavours and colouring to mix for a final time.
4.     Place into a piping bag with the nozzle of your choice and pipe onto the cupcakes once cooled.
